Fans Of Raw Milk Herd Support At Safety Hearing

At first, the whole thing sounds like a perversion of the old
puritanical bromide: no reason to pay for the milk when you've
already bought the cow.
Or rather, a part of the cow.
What is going on at Guidestone Farm west of Loveland actually is a
wrinkle in the natural-is-better movement, and it's one cropping up
around the country. This particular wrinkle came to Colorado
because this state, like a number of others, forbids the sale of raw,
unpasteurized milk.
So, about a decade ago, organic farmers and their customers got
together and figured that if it were shares of a cow being bought
and sold - while the milk is given away free - then everyone is
happy. People who want raw, unpasteurized milk can get it, and
technically, nobody breaks any laws.
To those who are passionate about it - and they are very
passionate - buying cow shares is an investment in good health, in
